Using internet resources

 

Web sites can be excellent sources of information, but require that you think critically about the information presented, especially since anyone can publish a web site whether they are an expert on the topic being presented or not. Here are a few reliable sources of information that are pertinent to Communication students.

University of Iowa Online Communication Studies Resources
Offers links to online resources that cover advertising, film, mass media, journalism, communication, cultural studies, and many other topics.

Political Communication Resources
Maintained by a university professor, this site "is a gateway to Internet sites containing useful information about the media and democracy."

Center for Social Media
The Center for Social Media showcases and analyzes strategies to use media as creative tools for public knowledge and action. It focuses on social documentaries for civil society and democracy, and on the public media environment that supports them. The Center is part of the School of Communication at American University.
