Info Lit Outcomes
Finding Your Calling (1 cr.)
In this concluding phase course, students assume active
agency in career planning through writing resumes and cover letters,
networking, interviewing, and learning the skills for negotiating with
prospective employers. They also begin the process for establishing their
internships. Students update their portfolios with archival evidence of
abilities gained through the Common Core, their major, and co-curricular
activities, and gain an understanding of the goals and outcomes for their
E-portfolio presentation.
Students will
be able to…
A. Develop and implement the skills
needed to effectively market themselves in the workplace, such as writing
resumes and cover letters, networking, methods of interviewing, and negotiation
B. Articulate their strengths, values,
abilities, and skills in both oral and written formats
C. Engage in intentional reflection in
order to plan and integrate the life roles or worker, family member, citizen,
leisurite, and spiritual being
D. Articulate how their chosen career
allows them to recognize, defend, and act upon what matters to them
E. Identify knowledge gained from the
Core, courses in their major, and co-curricular activities that has informed
their concept of self and their role as citizens and future professionals
