The Council

Welcome!  The Information Literacy Council seeks to provide counsel and guidance to USM Libraries in the exploration and development of effective techniques to increase information literacy throughout the curriculum. Information literacy is a required outcome of all general education at USM. The Council seeks to collaborate with all faculty members in designing and implementing instruction that will enhance student research skills.

The information literacy plan is provided below and serves as a working foundation for the program. Review and adjustment takes place annually.

Please check our minutes and our InfoSavvy blog to keep up-to-date on Council activities and advances in the field of information literacy.

Standards

The effectiveness of instruction requires standards for measurement. The information below may prove useful toward that end.
