Course Guides
How To Use Course Guides
Course guides are designed for specific courses and, in some cases, include resources specifically requested by the instructor. Guides are only produced for those classes in which the instructor requests a guide. Check with your instructor concerning specific assignments and passwords required to access materials placed on Electronic Reserves.
When beginning your research you will first need to narrow your topic to the point where you don't get too much or too little information. Check out our menu of tutorials. This will include finding keywords or terms. Encyclopedias are often a good place to start, providing a topic overview and the keywords or terms you will need.
Next you will want to find books and articles. The links on your course guide have been specifically selected for that purpose. Our tutorials page also includes useful information and tools for creating your bibliography or "works cited page."
And remember ... our databases (source of articles), online catalog, and more are fully accessible from off-campus using your student ID bar code number beginning with 25022... See the Getting Started tab above.
If you run into any kind of difficulty, please ... ask the reference librarians using the contact information below. We're here to help you find good information quickly.
