Textbooks on Reserve (100 & 200 level courses)

USM Libraries has placed many 100 & 200 level textbooks on Reserve in the Library. Students can check out these textbooks and use them in the Library for 2 hours. Stop by and ask us about this program.

Databases & Journals

Finding books (& selected other materials)

URSUS (UMaine System Libraries & more).
To request a book from another URSUS campus, click on the title, click on Request next to the red check mark: This is the request button. Then enter your name and barcode number which begins with 25022... or 218... (on your USM Card) & select the campus where you want the book sent for pickup. Books typically arrive within 3 days and you will be notified by email.

MaineCat (Bates, Bowdoin, Colby, & more) is where you go if the item you need is unavailable in URSUS. Click on the title. Click on Request This Item next to the red check mark: This is the request button. Select your home library and fill in the info like above.

WorldCat (libraries beyond Maine) is where you go if the item is unavailable in URSUS or MaineCat. You will need to use your ILLiad Account.

Subject & Course Guides

Librarians have created helpful Subject Guides and Course Guides for selected classes (found under the corresponding Subject and in the box on the right on the Subject Guides page). If you would like to work collaboratively on creating a Course Guide for your class or would like to have a Course Guide embedded in Blackboard, contact your Library Liaison.
