DVD & Video Information for Faculty: Finding DVDs and Streaming Videos

Provide Faculty with information on finding streaming videos and DVD's, requesting new DVD's, using a video's persistent link (permalink) in BlackBoard, and requesting a video be placed in the course's Electronic Reserves (aka E-Reserves or ARES).

Finding USM-owned DVDs in URSUS

Log into myUSM Campus Portal
Click on Libraries & Technology
Click on USM Libraries
Under QUICK LINKS, Click URSUS Catalog and Click Advanced Search.

Finding USM-owned Streaming Videos in URSUS (limited to Films on Demand)

USM DVD Locations

USM POR Media - Glickman library 2nd floor, circulating item

USM POR Circulation Dept.  - Glickman library 1st floor, non-circulating item (faculty are allowed to check-out for classes)

USM LAC Media - LAC 1st floor, both circulating & non-circulating

Streaming Video and Electronic Reserves (ARES)

If USM Libraries has a streaming video title available, the Library cannot put the streaming video directly into Electronic Reserves.  Please be sure to put in a request that the Library purchase the DVD of the video.

Request DVD Reservation or Purchase

This form can be used by faculty to:

  • Request a DVD from USM's Non-Circulating collection
  • Request a DVD from USM's Circulating collection
  • Request that USM Libraries purchase a DVD
  • Request that a DVD be added to Electronic Reserves (ARES)
  • Request that a streaming video be added to Electronic Reserves (ARES)
  • Request that a DVD be placed on physical reserve in a USM Library

Requests should include: Course Name, Semester, and Film Name.
